1. Overview

ToolHive (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the website toolhive.space (the “Service”). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service.

Our core principle: your data never leaves your browser. All tool operations — JSON formatting, encoding, hashing, file analysis — are performed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. We do not receive, store, or process any data you enter into our tools.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Analytics (Aggregate, Anonymous)

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to collect anonymous, aggregate usage statistics. Plausible does not use cookies, does not track users across sites, and does not collect personally identifiable information. Data collected includes: page views, referral sources, browser type, and country (inferred from IP, which is not stored).

2.2 What We Do NOT Collect

  • Any data you enter into our tools (processed locally in your browser)
  • Files you upload (processed locally, never transmitted)
  • Personal information, names, or email addresses
  • User accounts (we have no account system)
  • Cookies for tracking purposes

3. Cookies — We Don't Use Any

ToolHive is 100% cookie-free. We do not set any cookies — not for tracking, not for preferences, not for sessions.

Your dark/light mode preference is stored in your browser's localStorage — a local storage mechanism that never leaves your device and is entirely under your control. Plausible Analytics, our analytics provider, is explicitly cookie-free by design.

Because we use no cookies, no cookie consent banner is shown. There is nothing to consent to.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Vercel — hosting and content delivery. May log IP addresses for security purposes per their Privacy Policy.
  • Plausible Analytics — anonymous usage statistics. No cookies, no personal data. Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudflare — CDN and DDoS protection. May process request metadata per their Privacy Policy.

5. Data Security

Since we do not collect or transmit your tool data, the security risk to your sensitive data is minimal. All connections to ToolHive use HTTPS/TLS encryption. Your browser's local storage is only used for theme preferences.

6. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
